Crosby & Taylor American handmade artisan pewter

On February 25th, 2025, The Barrington Garage acquired Crosby & Taylor artisan pewter.

Picture this. An expert maker pours a cascade of silvery molten metal from a ladle into a spinning mold. As the metal hardens, she carefully wields a hammer to refine the shape and texture of the piece, giving it character and authenticity.

For nearly 40 years, Crosby & Taylor founder Deborah Chapman made a living as a pewtersmith. Early in life, she earned a Master's degree in French Literature and thought her destiny was to be a French teacher. Life doesn’t always go as planned, and pewter became her muse. Her iconic measuring cups and spoons have graced the kitchens of celebrity chefs such as Paula Deen, and her giftware and keepsakes have delighted recipients for decades.

Deborah has handed her ladle to other talented artisans who will carry on her vision for creating products with meaning and purpose.
