Two Birds on a Chain is an artistic expression juxtaposing rugged industrialism with the delicate presence of nature. The maker creates his sculptures from discarded steel chains and finely carved porcelain birds.

Chris Stiles received a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts from California State University Long Beach. After graduating, he refined his skills as an artist and teacher before establishing his full-time studio, Stiles in Clay, in 1998. His work has been influenced by time spent in Scandinavia where he studied their rich mid-century craft culture. That experience gave him a broader understanding of tools and techniques which led to new avenues of expression and creativity. Chris works with ceramics and found objects to create unique and highly collectible designs.
