Crosby & Taylor - Enriching Life's Moments
Share
A Crosby & Taylor twig-and-leaf spoon rests in an olive-wood tray on my kitchen counter, close to the espresso machine and a jar of turbinado sugar. Each morning, that scene reminds me that artisan goods can enrich mundane rituals like scooping sugar and stirring coffee.

Pewter’s appeal reaches beyond style. Holding a pewter handle or running your fingers across the bowl of a pewter measuring cup is soothing. It urges you to slow down and value the moment.
Stirring my morning coffee or afternoon tea with that twig-and-leaf spoon took on new significance a year and a half ago, when I purchased Crosby & Taylor from its founder, Deborah Chapman. With each scoop and stir, I’m reminded that I’m the steward of a brand that has contributed heirloom treasures to countless celebrations and milestones.
I have big shoes to fill. Deborah didn’t just sell pewter products. She cultivated relationships with her customers that enhanced their moments in ways pewter alone couldn’t.
Thankfully, she’s only an email or text away when I need the insights that her 40-year love affair with pewter can provide. When I’m tempted to treat her cherished brand like a commodity, I’m reminded that people buy Crosby & Taylor for more than its look and feel. They buy it because it helps them memorialize life’s moments, from sipping coffee to saying, “I do.”
Human hands cast the pewter, but human experience molds the memories.
