Cache Valley Pottery Black and Yellow Glaze Bowl
Cache Valley Pottery features the work of Sharon Brown Mikkelson. Her studio is named after the high mountain valley ninety miles northeast of Salt Lake City, Utah which was also called "Willow Valley" by Native Americans. Sharon's Black and Yellow Glaze series features various dishes, bowls and vases with an earthy, aged appearance. The exterior of the bowl features an etched texture while the inside is smooth. The yellow and black glazes provide stunning contrast, occasionally bleeding together to further highlight the underlying texture. The pottery is fired to 2380 degrees farenheit and is completely vitreous. All glazes are lead free and non-toxic, safe for the dishwasher and microwave. With proper care, her beautiful and functional pieces are designed to be used and enjoyed for a lifetime. Please keep in mind that every bowl is handmade, one at a time, so there will be some variations in size, color and texture from the photos. Also, minor imperfections are inherent in handmade pottery and add to the character and uniqueness of each piece.
